Polyglycolic Acid-Caprolactone Suture Material Serafast®
DESCRIPTION
SERAFAST® is a synthetic absorbable monofila- ment sterile surgical suture material.
The suture material satisfies the essential require- ments of the Medical Device Directive 93/42/EEC and the harmonised standard of the European Pharmacopoeia „Sterile absorbable synthetic sutures (fila resorbilia synthetica monofilamenta sterilia)“.
COMPOSITION
It is com- posed of a segmented copolymer with the basic compounds glycolide and ε-caprolactone, empri-cal formula (C2H2O2)m(C6H10O2)n. It is available dyed with D+C violett Nr. 2, Colour Index Nr.60725, or undyed.
INDICATIONS
SERAFAST® is used to approximate soft tissues or
for tying ligatures in cases where rapidly absorb- able (up to 2 weeks) suture is indicated.
PRESENTATION
SERAFAST® is available in various strengths and lengths, dyed and undyed, attached to various needle types, and unneedled. The sutures and their combinations are supplied sterile in single and multiple packs (multipack).
