Popyglycolic Acid-Caprolactone Suture Material Serafit®

DESCRIPTION

SERAFIT® is a braided, synthetic, absorbable, sterile surgical suture material. It is made from the homopolymer of glycolic acid and has the molecular formula [C2O2H2]n. It is supplied dyed with D+C violet no. 2, Colour Index No. 60725 or undyed. The suture material satisfies the essential requirements of Directive 93/42/EEC on medical devices and the harmonized standard of the European Pharmacopoeia for “sterile, braided, absorbable, synthetic threads (fila resorbilia synthetica torta sterilia)”.

Polyglycolic acid, braided, coated with calcium stearate and poly capro lactone or polyglycolic acid/polylactide

INDICATIONS

SERAFIT® is intended for use in adaptation of soft tissues and in ligatures where medium-term absorbable thread material is required, including ophthalmic surgery and microsurgery. Inadequate data are available as yet on use in the central vascular system

PRESENTATION

Suture materials of SERAFIT® are supplied in various gauge sizes and lengths, dyed and undyed and with various types of needle or without needles. The threads or combinations are supplied in individual packs and multiple packs in a sterile package. More precise details are given in the catalogue.
